Wear layer matters
A thicker wear layer means the floor can be refinished later instead of replaced. We flag the difference between a 2 mm and a 4 mm wear layer before you commit, because it changes the floor’s whole lifespan.

Can engineered hardwood be refinished?
It depends on the wear layer. Boards with a thicker wear layer can usually be sanded and refinished at least once. We tell you the realistic refinishing potential of any product before you buy it.
Which is better for my condo — solid or engineered?
